All The Ducklings Get More Room Today, A Huge Job! #65 Hatching Ducklings Ducks HD

The duck’s morning rush out the pen is really starting to take shape, I’m going to be so glad when I my back log of work is done and I can work in the morning rush to the lake with these guys. Poor little Ms. Gimp isn’t going to be with us for much longer, even though she is moving around with the flock and has started using her stump again I know it won’t be long and I will have to make the hard choice. I cleared out more area on the property so if we do have any more predators show up it won’t be easy for them. The duck flock isn’t like last year this year’s has fragmented in different groups and it seems the geese are heading up each group. The staggered hatch is taking it’s toll on me I’m getting worn out taking care of different ages of ducklings and setting up tearing down it seems that is all I do here. It’s really nice and hot today and I’m working in the yard and I thought I’d set up a kiddie pool in the drive way with constant water running for the ducks to play in, I know I’m going to regret this because up to today the driveway had next to no duck poop on it. It’s going to get into the vehicles I know it. The ducks are working their way to the creek, more and more everyday go down to the creek where the canoe is, maybe one day it will be a duck train to the lake on their own. Today I finally figured out why Muscovy ducklings are always the dirtiest, they are so laid back all the other ducklings walk all over them. I was working in the pen setting up the area for the ducklings from the barn to have on their own and Dug disappeared I called him for about 5 minutes and he didn’t come to me, this is very strange as Dug always comes when I call him. Turns out he had jumped the barrier to the barn and was in the barn watching the ducklings in the kiddie pool. The duckling’s first night and they stayed out late, they didn’t want to go into the barn.
