Sneaky Virus That Can Manipulate Windows Defender & Windows 10 Update Fix HD

This video discusses a serious vulnerability that criminal hackers can exploit in windows defender prior to the Windows 10 update (1709). The virus is a small program that avoids detection and downloads serious viruses that will attack a users machine or network. When Windows Defender detects it and places it in quarantine, the virus secretly moves the infested files out of quarantine and into the approved area. In 2017 I created several demos and wrote a white paper that I shared with Microsoft. It outlined ways hackers can manipulate Windows Defender both from a technical standpoint and also from a social engineering standpoint. Almost all the issues I found have been resolved in Windows 10 version 1709. In the video I show you a quick way to check for the version of Windows 10 you have as well as a way to quickly make sure you are running the new Windows Defender.
