COFFEE BUNS - Easy to make recipe
Hi everyone! I am sharing with you my own version and easy to make Coffee Buns. I have tried this for many times and you will surely love this. Here are the recipe and instructions. DOUGH Bread Flour - 300 grams White Sugar - 55 grams Salt - 5 grams Instant Yeast - 5 grams Butter - 15 grams Water - 130 grams Liquid Milk - 50 grams Egg - 25 grams *If the dough becomes sticky, add some flour gradually until it becomes manageable to knead. COFFEE TOPPINGS Instant Coffee - 10 grams Hot Water - 10 grams Softened Butter - 60 grams White Sugar - 50 grams Egg - 50 grams Cake Flour (sifted) - 70 grams STEPS IN MAKING COFFEE BUNS For Dough 1. In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. ( bread flour + white sugar + salt + instant yeast ) 2. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients. ( water + liquid milk ) 3. Mix the dry and liquid ingredients for few minutes. *In this video, I just used my hand to mix the ingredients. If you have your bread mixer, you may use that for this recipe as well. 4. Add the butter to the dough mixture. *If you are using your hand to knead, it is best to find a clean, smooth flat table for easier kneading. 5. Continue to knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Bread flours may be different from other regions, some adjustments may be needed. * If the dough seems to be sticky, you may add some bread flour. * If the dough seems to be to tough or hard, you may add some water. 6. Once the dough is fully developed (smooth and elastic), Prepare a large bowl greased with butter. Place the dough inside and cover it with clean cloth. 7. Let the dough rest for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size. While waiting for the dough to rise, You may now prepare for the Coffee Toppings. 8. Once the dough doubled in size, place it again on flat surface and gently punch it. This is to remove the excess air produced during fermentation. 9. Gently fold the dough to make a round shape and let it rest for about 5 minutes. 10. Divide the dough to 60 to 70 grams per piece. 11. Place 15 grams of Butter (cold) as filling to the dough. Make sure to tightly seal the bottom part before placing it into baking pan. 12. Grease the baking pan with butter. Transfer the dough on it. 13. Proof the dough for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size. 14. After 1 hour or if the dough doubled in size, get the Coffee Topping mixture. 15. Pipe the coffee topping mixture on bread. Start it from top to side in a circular motion. * You may add chocolate chips on top if you want. :) 16. Bake it to 350 Degree Celsius (180 Degree Fahrenheit) for about 15 to 18 minutes, depending on your oven. Make sure that you preheated your oven to 350 Degree Celsius before putting in the dough. 17. Once the bread is fully baked, Let it cool and enjoy your home made Coffee Buns! COFFEE TOPPINGS 1. Dissolve the instant coffee to hot water. Set aside and let it cool. 2. Place the butter (softened) in a clean bowl and whisk until color becomes light. 3. Add sugar in the butter and continue mixing. 4. Add the egg and continue to mix. 5. Add the coffee mixture, make sure that it is cooled down before mixing to avoid curdling. Continue mixing. 6. Gradually add the cake flour to the mixture. Make sure that it is sifted to avoid lumps. 7. Once the ingredients are well mixed and mixture becomes smooth, place it into a small piping bag. Set aside for a while.
