Quick overview on checking GPU connection specs and speed in bios and Windows (links to software used in vid - below). X99 Broadwell E lane distribution / bandwidth on Asus Deluxe II MB. Also Few quick ways to check GPU is running at right Gen3 specs and PCIE speed in Windows. ---------Background-------- Had noticed around 7-10 FPS less in a game like BF1 on ultra settings at 1440p @85Hz with this 980 ti card as it was being set by the mb to Gen2 instead of Gen3 Bios would allow Gen3 selection and confirm x16 speeds but in Windows would load as Gen2 x16 -----PCIe lane distribution can vary by motherboard------- With the PCIEX16_2 changed from Auto to Gen2 on this mb somehow lane distribution/bandwidth layout of mb caused GPU in slot PCIEX16_1 to set at Gen2 as well :-?
