Restoration Rusty Giant Splitting Axe HD

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This is old rusty splitting axe I found at flea market. I never seen before that such a large and heavy axe. Sure, I bought it at time to restore it! Restoration process: First, I removed axe handle and check the condition of axe head. There was no deep pits or rust high level and I used rusty remover liquid. Then via iron brush, files and grinderstone I corrected the shape of axe and axe eye. I made the decision to restore the old handle axe. I removed part of rotten wood and began to prepare the handle. After woodworking, I used superglue and saw dust to hide and fill little cracks of handle. I polished it via sandpapers. Then I used transparent lacquer for wood, 3 coats. After I made a protective part for handle. I cut out the piece I wanted and shaped it. Then I used epoxy glue and 4 small screws to fix this plate. After I sharpened the axe and prepared a difficult test. Thank you!
