Schindler traction elevator with manual doors at the Unreal hostel in Lisbon

When I arrived at the Hostel, the elevator was at the third floor but would not respond to calls. Walking up in order to see why, I was surprised to find that this elevator has a manual scissor gate rather than automated inner doors. Someone had forgotten to close the gate, which stupidly does not close by itself. This rendered this elevator useless on multiple occasions. This elevator is a single speed model as well, but I experienced it to have harsher stops.
