Schindler traction elevator without inner door at the Reichenhof in Hamburg
Despite the rather new passenger elevators in the main staircase of the same building, this freight elevator has seemingly not been modernized since it was built, except of course for the addition of some photocells. Its cab has two entrances, one of which only serves a landing on street level that opens to the outside, an arrangement typical for freight elevators. When stopped using the stop button, and within range of a floor, the corresponding shaft doors unlock. An odd characteristic is shown when going up from the basement to street level: The elevator accelerates to full speed but immediately slows down to leveling speed. Technical specifications: Brand: Schindler Capacity: 1500kg / ~3305lbs / 11 people Type: traction (2:1 transmission) Year built: 1965 Travel distance: 8 floors / 9 stops
